Losing a member of our community is never easy. Hector was one of a kind with a smile that would light up a room. A true Bronx native, confident and proud of who he was and where he was from. On the saddle he was a work horse and a true competitor but his talents went far beyond the bicycle. To everyone that was lucky enough to call him a friend, he was much more than that.
As we all come to terms with the emotions we’re going through, those closest to him have the difficult task of handling the funeral process. All of us can step up and give them the time and space they need by making sure the finances are the last thing they need to worry about. Please donate what you can, any amount helps us reach the goal to give the family much needed peace of mind.
Nunca es fácil perder un miembro de nuestra comunidad. Héctor era único, con una sonrisa que iluminaba cualquier lugar. Un auténtico hijo del Bronx, confiado y orgulloso de quién era y de sus raíces. Sobre la bicicleta era un trabajador incansable y un verdadero competidor, pero su talento iba mucho más allá del ciclismo. Para quienes tuvieron la fortuna de llamarlo amigo, él fue mucho más que eso.
