the crew at brooklyns cycling family challenged racers with one of the longest races in the series. Despite the hot and humid day, forty (40) racers showed up to tackle nearly 50 miles and three manifests.
Many racers were surprised by a second manifest, and when they learned there was a third, only a few remained. toni was a complete beast, pulling up to the finish like he had gone to war and was the last one standing. Dane 2nd as well as the quick lock win, climbing to the top of the series leaderboard. The WTFNB registration was sponsored by Queens race organizer, gabby . tracey won her second Borolympics 1st place WTF title in the series. carinn finished 2nd, and katherine, who wasn’t planning on racing, crushed it and took 3rd. The timed portion began with the pickup of the manifest 3 and ended at the finish, making it the most challenging race so far.
Thanks to the BK crew for organizing a large, well-run race. Racers enjoyed doubles after the race to get a true taste of BK. Adrian provided homemade detergent, and cat six soaps supplied bars of soap to keep everyone fresh. medly sponsored with 100 joints for racers, volunteers, and everyone who needed to relax on a hot day. Shout out to BK’s own bed stuy bikes, bike plant, and two seas for their support. With one race left and the top three racers nearly tied, who will represent NYC at naccc‘24 in san diego, california?
