Sunday was “Pet Dash”, a benefit ride for local animal shelters. To the best of our knowledge, this was an unprecedented type race, encouraging participants to work together and help out domestic animals in celebration of National Pet Day (today). Similar to Cranksgiving, this isn’t about who’s fastest, but who can collect the most, the fastest…! Fundamentally, unconditional mutual-aid is the goal, and for whom better than our furry companions! 🦮🐈🕊️

Between 13 racers (four groups of three and one overall solo), we collected over $1K in animal food and products, such as chew toys and fleece blankets (it was previously stated $998, but a few receipts went missing so the true value is higher, yet priceless 🥴😅). The checkpoint locations manifested of local ma & pa pet shops thru Manhattan - six to be exact. We were told by our participants that each store was very kind and helpful, as they assisted our riders cosplaying as customers amidst under pressure of time. And for that, we are grateful for all the mutual gratitude, respect and vibes throughout the sunny day. Friends were made, high fives were lain, all smiles and no rain.

Admirable, and very appreciated donations went towards locals nycacc & wild bird fund! Check them out, and see how you can continue to support 😍

🐣 Sunday April 7th, we’re hosting a pet drive dash! Similar to cranksgiving, this is a benefit for domestic pets, in celebration of national pets day, happening a few days later in the week.

🐰 Racers are to collect goods with receipts for domestic pets at select local pet stores in Manhattan. Riders can opt to race solo, however, teams are encouraged to work together! Not just a race to see who can collect and finish first, but who can collect the most, the fastest…! Collected goods will be donated to our friends at wild bird fund and nycacc this year.
🐱🐶 near Hudson yards around noon, Wheels down around 1PM upon given a manifest of stores to go to. Registration is free for entry; riders need a lock and bag, suggested helmet, and at least $20 to collect donated goods. We’ve got prizes for first team, most generous amount donated, and more.
