Summer Standby Adventures retuned for its 3rd installment, and our longest ride out yet; heading to Dogwood Haven in P.A. on Friday, June 6th to Sunday, June 8th.

This is an open call to all our messenger community to escape the city with us. We’ll put in some miles, stop for safety meetings along the way, terrorize small towns while we load up on ice cream and road sodas. Dogwood Haven Family Campground sits right on the Delaware River so expect fishing, swimming, possibly tubing? Pull up and see where the weekend takes us.

Last year some lucky campers even won some amazing bikepacking bags thanks to our wonderful sponsors. Although the priority is for messengers to take a load off and relax for a weekend this is open to everyone but space is limited.

Shortly before the start of summer (tho just has hot!), we started our day at dawn, linking at a deli in Staten Island before setting out for our furthest destination for camping yet - Dogwood Haven, outside Upper Black Eddy, PA. Crossing via Goethals Bridge, over 80 miles of riding with about a dozen people partying along the way, came together for a weekend of camping, sharing stories, and the responsibility of cooking tasty food for one another (our biggest congregated camp ride yet)!

We had the pleasure of ortlieb & revelate designs, hooking our campers up with new gear, won in our raffle. Thank you to Kurt aka messenger 841 for supplying us!

Did you camp outside NYC this past summer? Where do you suggest we camp next?? Stay tuned as we plan for the next summer standby adventures.
